Thank you!
I noticed you were missing Anastasia though.

Thank you! I’ve fixed it – if any one else spots an omission, please comment!

Well done Abby! Thanks for working so hard on this. What an impressive body of work!

Reply

Bryony January 12, 2011 at 5:30 PM

Saskia isn’t there! But I love this.

Fixing it now! Thank you.

Reply

Lola January 12, 2011 at 6:24 PM

Thanks Abby, what a job it must have been!
On a side note: Why is Peregrine on the girls list? When it loads it clearly says “He” & “him”. Might be better to only be on the boys list!

Reply

appellationmountain January 12, 2011 at 7:21 PM

Thanks for the catch! I’m deleting Peregrine from the girls’ list. :)

Gemma has been NotD but she’s not on the list.

Laura April 10, 2011 at 12:07 PM

Oh, I would love to hear about Miette. So sweet.

Reply

Julie April 20, 2011 at 1:49 AM

what about the name Lindsey? I like the sound of it! :) Though not so much about the relation with the Lohan actress

Reply

Jenna H May 2, 2011 at 9:57 PM

What about Charlotte? With Kate and Wills’ recent nuptials, it only seems appropriate to revisit a name that has sat on the throne of England, as Kate, or HRH the Duchess Catherine will one day do. ;)

Loren May 4, 2011 at 3:44 PM

Could you please do a post on Margaret? It’s mentioned a lot of times but never fully fleshed as far as I can tell. Also Margo! Thanks for considering it.

Reply

Oliviette October 14, 2011 at 5:38 PM

Kaite and Lorenette are really cool names too!!!1

Reply

Leila May 9, 2011 at 3:18 PM

Could you do a post on Margo/Margot?

Reply

Leila May 16, 2011 at 1:19 PM

Or Leila (though I obviously am biased there)

Reply

Anika June 29, 2011 at 3:01 PM

Or Margeaux. I have a friend (~30 yrs old) with that spelling.

Merin August 15, 2011 at 2:57 PM

Great List – I’d love to see what you come up with for “Charlotte” and “Sutton” (as a male name). My husband and I are expecting our first child and do not know the gender and so are still deciding both female and male names. I look forward to any comments you may have.

Reply

Tess September 14, 2011 at 11:33 AM

I think Tess should be added :)

Penelope October 1, 2011 at 5:21 PM

Reply

Cosign! I love Quinn too!

Reply

Melody October 7, 2011 at 10:17 PM

Awesome list! You don’t have the name Melody or Saoirse though. Both pretty cool names. :)

Reply

Oliviette October 14, 2011 at 5:33 PM

Why son’t you have Cerys or Natalie (they are my friend’s names) and maybe Erica and Otricia and Aisling (they are all my friends) maybe my name even (Oliviette but people call me Livy, Livs or Olly!

Reply

Oliviette October 14, 2011 at 5:34 PM

I also just thought of one how about Chloe and Mayce!

Hey, I have been trying to create categories for my blog. I can’t seem to figure it out or it won’t let me. How did you do this?

Also, you forgot to add Vasare to the Girls list :)

Jordana is not on this list.

I would LOVE to see the gentle, feminine, classy Emily on here (popularity issues aside). Some history on this name would be much appreciated, and her literary connections would make for an interesting read. We all no doubt know a few Emilys, and it’s about time some light was shed on this appealing – if ubiquitous – name.

ellen February 22, 2012 at 5:38 AM

what about olive?

Reply

Christina March 24, 2012 at 6:11 PM

Vivian isn’t on the list!

Reply

Sarah April 30, 2012 at 10:23 PM

I would like to see Ginevra and Primrose. I love Primrose as a Rose alternative! And I love all the vowels in Ginevra!

Reply

Sarah June 20, 2012 at 1:41 AM

I have a Q for you, an aztec name… Quetzalli
& another U to add to your lone Ursula…. Ulyssa
I’d also be happy to see Fidelity added to the list.. this is my daughter Amara’s middle name. Its familiar as an english word but also linked to Fidel, Fidelia, Fidelis.

Rose July 3, 2012 at 1:10 AM

I think you should make Shyann (Or spelled: Cheyenne) a “Name Of The Day”

Reply

Martha July 16, 2012 at 11:33 AM

Tamsin is missing from your list–I see that you have a post about it, but I can’t read the whole thing, it cuts out after a few sentences.

When I click on the name Lucia the information for the name Lucienne pulls up instead. I love the name Lucia and would love to read more about it. I love your site!

I’m not sure if you still want notice of posts that are not showing up in full, but just in case, the Lavinia post is only displaying the beginning.
