Autumn Baby Names: The Ultimate List of Lists

September 16, 2019 By appellationmountain Leave a Comment

Autumn Baby NamesFall means pumpkins, leaves, and autumn baby names.

Maybe you’re expecting a baby this season. Or maybe it’s just your favorite time of year, and the idea of cozy sweaters and fireplaces seems like the right inspiration for a child’s name.

Either way, this list takes all the other lists to find names that celebrate all things fall.

If it’s spooky names you seek, you might want to dive into Halloween Baby Names: The Ultimate List of Lists. And for even more inspiration, if you’re thinking about Pilgrims and Plymouth Rock, Virtue Names: The Ultimate List of Lists might be just the thing for your Thanksgiving baby.

Autumn Baby Names: Cozy Choices

  • The Friendly Fig pulled together a great list of cozy names – not necessarily autumnal in meaning, but just right in vibe.
  • Meagan at Tulip By Any Name offers a long list with similar inspiration. Asher might not mean autumn, but I think it sounds just right for a fall baby.
  • And here’s my list of Homespun Boy Names – one of my favorite lists in a long time!

Autumn Baby Names: Nature, Calendar, and Colors

  • For something slightly more literal, this list from Nameberry rounds up names related to trees, plus colors like red and gold.
  • Speaking of tree names, not all of them feel fit for fall, but I think the majority of these do seem like they belong here.
  • ScaryMommy’s list had me at Crispin.
  • There are a few intriguing entries on this list, including Copper. I think it could work.
  • SJ’s video covers some appealing options. She’s convinced me that Aurelia definitely belongs with autumn baby names.
  • This list is just for boys, and I think nearly every name is both unusual and easy to imagine on a real kid.
  • If you only read one list, this Romper round-up hits all the essentials.

Everything Under the Autumn Sky

  • This video from Meagan is packed with fun autumn-inspired baby name games. What would you name a baby with the initials AU? How would you use Autumn in a child’s name? (She goes with Everly Autumn.)
  • Nearly any list of crazy celebrity baby names includes Gwyneth Paltrow’s Apple. But, but, but … I promise that apple varities offer up plenty of appealing name options.
  • And if you take that idea and travel across the world? Even more possibilities emerge.
  • Or if you’re more into wheat and corn? This is one of the more surprising sources of inspiration I’ve seen, though I think the names might be tougher to wear than some.
  • Because Beyonce made this list.
  • If astrology appeals to you, you might consider these names inspired by the sign of Scorpio, for babies born from late October into late November. Thorell strikes me as completely novel, and yet perfectly wearable …

Featured Autumn Baby Names

  • This list would be incomplete without Autumn, a favorite in recent years.
  • Crispin came up earlier, and I can’t resist mentioning it again.
  • I think Flavia might belong here, too.
  • And Saffron feels effortlessly autumnal.
