  1. How fun! Amongs the many other possibilities floating around in my head, I would probably suggest Matteo and Heidi (in honor of my mother).

  2. Old-fashioned names that have yet to make a come back and maybe won’t – Edna, Minnie, Linda, May/Mae, etc.

  3. This would be so much fun! I would want to read about Augusta and Thaddeus! I love those names 🙂

  4. Cool way to celebrate your 1,000 post! If I win, I’d like to learn more about Ziva and Alya. I like the names, but would never use them, sadly.

  5. Congratulations on your 1,000th post and thank you for creating my first-stop-of the-day website! At the risk of sounding slimey, I don’t know what I’d do without Appellation Mountain!

Now, it’s lucky I would have a few months or so before I had to pick because there are so many names that spring to mind. However, I would have to say the first is Louvane; of all the Roberts and Anns on my family tree, my Great-Grandma Irene had this French-fried gem as her middle name and it’s become something of a family mystery. Just where did her parents pick THAT up from? Anyway, I’d love to hear about it, but everyone’s comments indicate that they would chose just fine names so I can’t wait for this week, whoever ‘takes over’.

  6. You’ve brought this lurker out of hiding! I love this contest idea. If I were to win, I might choose Moira.
