I voted for Casimir, but Ishmael was right there on top with him… I choce Casimir for my sister’s sake, she LOVES it, mostly due to Sufjan Stevens song ‘Casimir Pulaski Day’ which according to my friend is one of the best and honest portrayals of Christian life in song. I must say it is heartbreakingly beautiful, and I very much understand why my sister likes the name so much 🙂

Wow, I’d rather hear about Larkin than any of these!

I did not know Casimir was so popular! I really love Casimira too.

Its similarity to Ferdinand, and a general curiosity about its origin. I’ve come across the other names, but not Ferdia — always a draw!

I voted for Ishmael mainly for my husband. He loves this name, but I haven’t warmed up to it yet. Maybe an Appellation Mountain post will do the trick!
