  1. I have a few…
Girls: Clover, Vashti, Aphra, Hebe, Hero, Thisbe, Delphi
Boys: Django, Wilfred, Diggory, Rudy, Fitzwilliam, Maxim
    Thank you!

    1. Great list, Liliane! I’ll start with Rudy – he’ll be featured on August 6.

    1. Great suggestions, Alta! I’m intrigued by Wade. He’s NotD on August 5!

  2. I am obsessed with your site! I feel so much better knowing that there are other name-nerds out there… My mother used to look at me awfully funny when I was a kid and the books I came home from the library with were baby name books, lol.

As for the NotD, how about Tracy? I know, I know, it’s straight outta the early eighties… but it’s my name, and so am I, so why not? 🙂

    1. Thanks, Saucy! And I know EXACTLY what you mean. I read my mother’s only name your baby book until the covers fell off and pages dropped out.

Tracy will be featured on July 22!

  3. Hi 🙂 I love you blog! have been interested in names since I was 13yrs old… have you ever featured the name “Valentina” ? 🙂

  4. Siofra! Or Morag! Or Pallas, Saoirse, Romola, Brighid, Rhiannon, Pippa, Rhea, Espen, Mungo, Tullius or Niall! (I’ve got a long list of favorite names.)

    1. What a great list, Maja! Which one to pick?

I think it has to be Rhiannon, though they all intrigue me. But we’ll put Rhiannon on for July 15!

  5. I’d like to suggest Veronica. Pretty sure you’ve never discussed it before.
    Thanks

  6. i’ve commented here, but never suggested a name, so i dont know if i qualify. but i’ll suggest Esmeray. It’s a Turkish girl name that i discovered recently. I dont know anything about it, but i think it’s pronounced es-mur-eye

  7. I’d like to suggest Winslow. I don’t think you have discussed this name before and it has a great namesake, Winslow Homer.

    1. Winslow – that is a really interesting one. He’s July 14 – thanks for the suggestion!

  8. Ooh, I’m the first! Long time lurker here. Would you do a post for the name Gray? Maybe you could list any and all names that could be shortened to Gray for a boy (I have a running list of these, but wondering if I’m missing anything)? <3 your site! Thanks!

    Leah

    1. You know that I love Gray and don’t want anyone else to know about it! Oh well, would love to see it as NotD. I love Gray as a nn for Grady, which has been in my family for four generations that I know of. Just brainstorming here…it would also work for Graham, Graeme, Grace, Grainger, Grail/Grael, Graydon or Grayson.

    2. Gray is great! And on my list, too. 🙂

He’ll be featured on July 13.

  9. My request is: Irene. It was my grandmother’s name and I think it’s ready for a comeback. It means “peace” in Greek. 🙂

    1. Lovely, lovey name – my grandmother’s name, actually! And one my sister has dibs on …

      1. Thanks! 🙂 And yeah, there’s about 10 Irenes in my family, so it’s out of the baby name mix for me except maybe a middle name, but I still love it!
