According to Celebrity Baby Blog, Violet’s little sister is called Seraphina Rose Elizabeth!

I’m heading over to Nameberry to see if anyone guessed it in their contest.

Seraphina will be Name of the Day on 3/3, but here’s a taste – the seraphim are one of the orders of angels; there have been two Saints Seraphina and the name has never appeared in the US Top 1000.

  1. This is the most beautiful name I think they could’ve chosen!
Seraphina is absolutely… angelic, and it has been a fave for some time now.
Rose is my top favorite name, and though a lil overused as a mid. name it is still gorgeous.
And the classic and elegant Elizabeth rounds out this name, making it perfect 🙂
Though my guesses were the more expected Daisy & Lily, I’m glad I was proven wrong.

  2. I was most excited when I heard what she was named! Seraphina is gorgeous and paired with Violet makes an awesome sibset.
In the UK: former, Welsh child singing sensation “Charlotte Church” has just given birth to a son: Dexter. I was more than thrilled with the name choice, Dexter is one of my faves at the minute. He joins sister Ruby, again a lovely sibling set.
This is a good week indeed for celebrity baby names!

  3. I like it a lot. Where I have usually heard this name before is on elderly Italian women (I would come across it in the newspaper; there were a lot of Italian Americans where I lived). Not quite what I would expect to go with Violet, but.. they are both girly names and I like them. And it’s refreshing to see a celebrity choose a name that it unusual but not weird.

  4. You know what? I take that back. That name definitely makes me roll my eyes. Seraphina? Very pretentious.

  5. I like it. The whole of it hits a nice note – the slightly unusual, yet fully recognizable Seraphina paired with traditional Elizabeth and Rose.. It’s an extremely feminine name. Lovely!

  6. I find Seraphina a little light and fluffy next to Violet, to be honest. I think I would have preferred just Rose Elizabeth. Seraphina seems almost flighty… But it’s worlds better than most other celeb baby names, so kudos to them. 🙂

  7. Seraphina, how marvellous! Is this definitely her name only I remember a couple of ‘red herring’ names doing the rounds when the Jolie-Pitt twins were born? Either way, It’s charming. I’ve heard Seraphina a couple of times before and she sounds so pretty and angelic. She’s slightly more way out than the Beatrice, Ophelia, Gloria or Eloise I pictured them choosing but not far off the mark, especially from Gloria! I particularly like her paired with the simple, elegant and classical Rose Elizabeth but would prefer it the other way around: Seraphina Elizabeth Rose just seems to flow better to me somehow. Lovely though…

  8. Thanks so much, Emma and Lucy! I’ve been watching Celebrity Baby Blog like a hawk. Now that they’ve revealed the name, I can finally get something else done! 🙂

And I agree with you – they did not disappoint.

  9. We were so excited to hear about this name, along with pretty much everyone on the naming community! Considering what a well-named first child they had, we were eagerly awaiting the second, and it did not disappoint! Not at all what we had been expecting but lovely all the same, and gorgeous paired with Violet! ‘Angel/angelic’ is a great meaning- time will tell whether she lives up to it, which I’m sure she will! We think Elizabeth may be a family name?!

PS. Congratulations on a fantastic site. Yours was the first I came to check to see if you’d heard the name!
