I hope Cosima does not get popular now. I love Cosima. With all due respect to Claudia Schiffer, Cosima is not that uncommon in her home country. I believe its fairly common over there. Cosima is also Italian, which may be why Sofia came up with it as well.

Oh man, I love Cosima…but for myself, not for other people! Fist-shaking is in order.

Cosima is just so pretty!! Maybe she doesn’t have a middle name, because I haven’t been able to find what Romy’s is either. I love how all three of their names: Sofia, Romy, and Cosima all have the long O sound. It ties in their names together nicely.

Notice that all three names also sound very nice with Coppola, if any of these young ladies choose to use their famous name as their mama did.

I just noticed on Nameberry that they have the full name of Miss Coppola’s daughter as Cosima Violet as well!!! Surely it’s a mistake…

There’s also celeb chef Nigella Lawson’s Cosima, and – get this – Lady Cosima Windsor, currently 22nd in line to the British throne, born in May 2010 – just weeks ahead of these two.

I hadn’t read about Lady Cosima Windsor! Very exciting.

Mine too! She must be slipping. My parents bought a color TV so that they could watch Charles and Diana’s wedding in all its splendor.

That’s great! I remember waking up very early to watch the fairy tale wedding.

I’ve been subscribing my mother to Majesty Magazine as a Christmas gift for YEARS. I used to read it obsessively for family trees and unusual names – in fact, I still do whenever I visit.

And Cosima’s big brother? Is named Xan. Just Xan. As in Xan Richard Anders Windsor, Lord Culloden.

Cosima is seriously starting to grow on me. I’d love it see it more!

I wonder who used it first, because the article only says that Sofia’s Cosima was born “within the last month”. Intriguing!

    Wow! That is unusual.

I wonder if Sofia had the name picked out before Claudia’s daughter was born and then was peeved when Claudia used the name first!
