It’s time for the March Madness Baby Names 2025 Boys Quarter Finals!

Every year, we spend the month of March in a friendly competition. We take the sixteen wild, wonderful, most-viewed names at Appellation Mountain from the prior year, and set them up, bracket-style. The competition reveals just one girls’ champ and a single victor on the boys’ side, too.

For more details on past winners, and this year’s competition, check out the Opening Round.

Now let’s jump right in to the results from last week’s match-ups.

MARCH MADNESS BABY NAMES 2026: SWEET SIXTEEN RESULTS

With over 61% of the vote, Jett comfortably fended off Boone. I’m not sure exactly why, but Jett continues to be wildly popular with readers here. The AM community is usually ahead of the trends, so I’m keeping a close eye on high-flying Jett.

Crew scored more than 64% of the total against Lando. That’s a comfortable margin of victory, but thanks to Formula One driver Lando Norris, the Star Wars name is gaining a new generation of fans.

Adrian knocked out Atlas with more than 61% of the tally. This seems about right for Top 100 favorite Adrian, though Atlas continues to head towards the Top 100, too.

Blaise took 76% of the vote versus up-and-comer Zohran. Blaise is a very AM kind of name – edgy, interesting, but with plenty of history. Zohran is a newcomer, virtually unheard of until New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani became a household name late last year.

Ethan just barely squeezed past Corbin with slightly more than 50% of the total. After a good run in the US Top Ten, Ethan seems to have mellowed into a modern classic.

Scoring over 58% of the count, Wells swept past Elio. Not so long ago, Wells was the new kid on the block. But now it’s an established choice, a 21st century answer to Wallace.

In a close contest, Townes barely triumphed over Cove, with just 51% of the total. The Townes/Cove and Huxley/Orrin matches were left off the first version of the post (apologies!) so it’s possible this contest could’ve gone the other way. But with numbers this close? It’s almost a coin flip.

In a similar story, just a few votes put Huxley in the lead against Orrin. While Huxley’s peak popularity was a few years ago, it’s still more in the spotlight than Orrin. But this was a close contest, so that could easily change.
