And just like that, we’re at the very last round!

There’s plenty of excitement from that other March Madness tournament right about now, but for us? This is very last chance to make your vote count.

The winning name will join a long and distinguished list.

* indicates that Cora won back-to-back championships. I couldn’t decide how I felt about defending a title, so I asked the audience. You agreed that it was best if any winning name was permanently retired from competition.

RESULTS OF THE SEMIFINAL MATCHES

Last week’s contests were surprisingly decisive, and they point to a truth in the AM community. Readers adore offbeat, wait-what kind of names when we’re searching. But when we vote? We hew more closely to established favorites with strong backstories and layers of meaning.

Long-time favorite Ethan easily defeated Jett with close to 64% of the vote. Jett was the top seed coming in to this contest, and knocked out Boone and Huxley before falling to powerhouse Ethan.

Adrian scored over 69% of the vote to knock out Crew. Adrian lost in the semifinals last year, but this time around makes it all the way to the very last match.

And just like that, we have our final two contenders!
