We’ve all joked about those babes called Brooklyn, asking if their sib would be called Manhattan.

As of today, we can report that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are parents to the punchline, newborn son Bronx Mowgli.

As for that middle name?  Mowgli is the boy from a series of Rudyard Kipling stories, one of which inspired Disney’s The Jungle Book in 1967.  So if you find yourself humming “The Bare Necessities” when you see his name, that’s why.

Reports are that mom and baby are doing fine.  Congratulations to the new family.
