The year is drawing to a close!  To borrow a line from The Waitresses:

Now the calendar’s just one page, and, of course, I am excited.

For the holidays, yes.  But also for the end of year name extravaganza: round-ups, wrap-ups, predictions!  Glorious predictions!

Last week, I reviewed my 2014 predictions to see what had come to pass.

This week, it’s all about Celebrity Baby Names.  We’re delving into four of the most interesting appellations bestowed by the famous this year.  And then, on Friday, I’ll do a year’s end wrap up of celebrity baby names.  If you can’t wait, I’ve already delved into the subject at Nameberry a few weeks ago.

That’s all for this week!  As always, thank you for reading – and have a great week!

  1. Regarding boys names on girls on boys, I’d love to see Meredith, Alexis, Ashley, and Kelly make comebacks. I agree with Andrea Y that I love the sound of Kimball, but I can’t get past the ‘ball’ part. And ‘Kim’ is too Kimberly for me, alas. Kimball, though; Great sound!

  2. I would love to see some names go back boy, especially Kim (I adore the novel by the same name and really see it as an adventurous boy name). I tried to convince my hubby to name one of our boys Kimball, but since a female cousin is named Kendall, my hubby thought it was too girl. Not true! Kimball is all boy–and so rugged and Irish sounding to me.

Kelly is another top contender for going back boy. Ashley is another.

  3. Great find about Juliet! It’s my #1 fave girl name, gave it to my daughter for her middle.

And most of the Tom Ford boy names are right up my alley! Alasdhair! Rafael! Sebastian! Luca!… 🙂

    Thanks for the mention, Abby!
