  2. I prefer the standard English pronunciation of (uh-KAY-shuh). In Greek, its pronounced (ah-KAH-kee-ah), which I don’t find quite as appealing.

    I adore the name, but hate the plant. 🙂 I just find her very spunky and rather unexpected. If we have another, I might make the unintentional flower theme with my girls names intentional by working Acacia in somewhere. Or Dahlia! I love flower names, really. I’d really love to meet a little Acacia -so very refreshing, as I’m getting a bit tired of Lily. It’s time for a new flower 🙂

  5. Lovely. The symbolism, the fact that it’s botanical, and it’s just so pleasant sounding. I had no idea that Acacia was the same plant as wattle. This is another facet of Acacia’s appeal – using her would be a very very subtle nod to my Aussie heritage. I already know a really cute little Acacia, and would be thrilled to meet some more! 🙂
