The price of a blog with growing readership?  I spend a ridiculous amount of time cleaning out spam.  Nancy occasionally posts lists of her spam names.  I thought of it when I got a not-comment from a Hildred earlier this week.

In other random name-spotting news, during a bout of insomnia Tuesday night I caught 2001′s Sugar & Spice.  If memory serves, there was more than one cheerleaders-rob-a-bank flick out that year.  This one was actually pretty funny – at least at 2 a.m. – but what really drew me in were the cheerleaders’ names: Diane, Hannah, Lucy, Cleo, Kansas, Fern, and the bitter, also-ran Lisa.

A comment on my Hadassah post prompted me to check out the full family tree for the recently rebooted Parenthood.  This time the television family consists of Zeek and Camille; their kids, Adam, Sarah, Crosby and Julia; and the grandkids:

• Haddie and Max
• Amber and Drew
• Sydney (played by Savannah Paige)
• Jabbar

Elsewhere online, international edition:

• Milton Keynes – Wikipedia tells me it is an exurb of London – makes baby naming news with the Wacky Baby Names chosen by the Beaver family, in the MKCitizen.  Mom Kay called her kids Clint Battista, Echo Scarlett Honey, Milo Phoenix Dee, Disney Taime Sapphire and Dali Paolo Reuben.  Echo’s kids are Pharrell Cassius Diego and Lovella Honey.  Nancy has a great commentary on this, complete with a list of a few more multi-generational families with unusual appellations;
• From England to France, check out Elisabeth’s French Birth Announcements: Parts One, Two, Three and Four is coming soon.  My vote for most fascinating nom on the girl’s list?  Eliette.  Do the French respell masculine names, too?  Or is there some other El- name to consider;

• At Nameberry, there’s a great list of recent arrivals to European royal families. There’s an Emma Tallulah in Norway;
• Will the volcanic eruption that brought European air travel to a halt result in a baby boomlet amongst those stranded?  If so, will any of them name their kid Ashley? Travel site Gadling has an amusing poll;
• Names4Real goes to Oklahoma.  (Okay, it’s not international, but Tulsa is a haul from where I’m sitting.)  She spotted a Stetson Lane.  Is it a hat shop, a street address or a baby boy?

On a different note, there’s Laura Wattenberg’s The Generational Sweet Spot, or Why Your Mother-in-Law Has Such Bad Taste.  It reminds me of a recent Real Simple article: What To Do When Your Parents Won’t Call Your Kids By Their Given Names? The author knows what she’s talking about.  Her daughter Thelma’s name apparently led to much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

• NCIS’ Sean Murray is dad to River James, a brother for Caitlyn Melissa;
• Amanda Peet welcomes a daughter, Molly June.  Molly joins Frances “Frankie” Pen at home;
• The Young and the Restless’ Christel Khalil Hensley welcomes a son, Michael Caden;
• SJP and Matthew Broderick’s twins have cool clothes, great addresses and fabulous names plus hip nicknames – Kitty and Babe.  In the article, Parker admits lovin’ the 1940s vibe of her daughters’ names.  Hmmm … are Joyce, Judy and Marilyn due for a comeback?
