It’s doable. I prefer it to Lavender in which the “lav” portion (aka toilet here), has finally wore me down and I no longer like it the way I used to. I still get a kick out of seeing it though

Lilac is my favorite color… well, it’s tied with yellow. And I love the flower, so I want to love it as a name. I think it’s great in the middle but I’m not entirely sure about it as a first name. I still prefer Lilah, that ack sound at the end just doesn’t feel natural as a name to me. Don’t get me wrong, I would absolutely adore it on someone else’s child, but not for my own… though all spring whenever I walked by and smelled the lilacs in my neighborhood I said to my husband, “What about Lilac for a girl?”

As for Lilac, she’s on my list, but only as a middle name and mostly because she is a nature name… I’m not too fond of her sound, but I have a wish to use one word/nature/virtue/place name in all of my combos, which makes Lilac an obvious addition to my list, especially since she’s so uncommon! ^^

I dig Lilac, though. But some say it lie-lock and not lie-lack; that’s when pronunciation ruins it for me.

I think flowery names that are a bit off the beaten path can be especially nice in the middle name slot to lighten up and add some whimsy for the parent that wants a bit more but doesn’t have the cajones to go all the way.
