We must say, we weren’t on pins and needles waiting for the arrival of Ethan Hawke and Ryan Shawhughes’ child. If anything, we grimaced a bit whenever we heard the phrase, “former nanny to Ethan’s children Maya and Levon.”
But all that aside, what a fabulous first name they’ve chosen: Clementine. Clementine Jane Hawke arrived on Friday, July 18 and reports are that everyone is doing just fine.

Maya, Levon & Clementine, hmm? Interesting shift there.
Congratulations to Ethan & Ryan (boy does that sound weird to my ears!) and welcome well named baby Clementine! (It’s still staying on my list!)
I get the kind of funky, vintage appeal of Clementine, but it’s always seemed like such a heavy name to me. Paired with last name Hawke, it sounds downright harsh.
I would have preferred a little Janie Hawke, but I guess Ethan and Ryan don’t care too much what I think!
I love Clementine for it’s clunky, vintage flowery feel, I think it would make an lovely, unexpected choice for a middle name, something along the lines of Alice Clementine…
All in all, a much better choice than Maya or Levon.
