What a fabulous summer for starbaby names – and the Jolie-Pitt twins and Kingston’s little sib are all still to come!
Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott welcomed daughter Stella Doreen McDermott on June 9. It’s not quite as dramatic a choice as Jessica Alba’s Honor, but we’re quite fond of the name. Doreen honors Dean’s late mother.
All reports indicate that mother and baby are doing fine.

I think it is refreshing when celebs choose “normal” names for their children. Good for them
Stella’s awesome with brother Liam, but what hole did they pull the unfashionable Doreen from? I know a good double handful of Doreens, they’re all between 40 & 60. It’s really dated right now and Tori isn’t quite stylish enough to make it acceptable to me. Doreen’s got one ugly look, luckily the sound’s not awful. I hope it’s a family name!

If I remember without Googling, Liam’s middle name is Aaron after Tori’s dad, so I’m guessing it was Dean’s turn.
Just goes to show – we have to be careful what we name our children, for their children might feel obligated to carry on the “family name.”
60 years from now, maybe the playgrounds will be filled with kids called Zen Kayla Smith and Xerxes Jayden Wilson. *Shiver.*

I don’t really find Honour to be dramatic, to me it’s the same as Faith Hope or Grace – just much nicer! I am really not a fan of Stella or Doreeen, though the names complement each other in sound.
